As Grand Prix momentum continues at the Museum, we turn from speed on the track to reflection beyond it.
Beyond the Finish Line features Medal of Honor Recipient Jack Jacobs in a moderated fireside conversation led by Mo Barrett as part of our Honor & Service Speaker Series.
Beginning at 11:00 a.m., Jacobs will share his story of service, leadership, and character—including his personal connection to Medal of Honor Recipient Eddie Rickenbacker, America’s leading World War I flying ace who earned the Medal for extraordinary heroism in aerial combat. Rickenbacker was once known as one of the fastest men in America before becoming a decorated military aviator, embodying a life that bridged competition, courage, and national service.
During the hour-long conversation, Jacobs will reflect on his civilian career following his own combat experience in Vietnam, the weight of leadership in moments of uncertainty, and the enduring lessons that shape how he understands responsibility and character today.
This program is designed to foster a personal connection to a Recipient’s story—inviting guests to consider how Medal of Honor values can influence the way they lead, serve, and live in their own communities.
The fireside concludes at 12:00 p.m., followed by a brief transition before a book signing from 12:30–2:00 p.m. in front of Retail. Guests will have the opportunity to meet Jack Jacobs and purchase his book in the Museum gift shop.
