ARLINGTON, TX — Art lovers and community members are invited to witness a blend of creativity and patriotism as U.S. Army veteran and muralist Juan Velazquez adds the finishing touches to a brand-new mural dedicated to the National Medal of Honor Museum in downtown Arlington. This live art experience will take place on the west side of Curnutt & Hafer LLP’s office at 311 W Abram St. on Thursday, June 5th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the artist and watch the mural come to life in real time.   

The mural, designed and painted by Velazquez, will serve as a tribute to the Medal of Honor and those who earned it, further cementing the strong partnership between the City of Arlington and the National Medal of Honor Museum. 

The evening celebration will begin with brief remarks from National Medal of Honor Museum President and CEO Chris Cassidy, Arlington Mayor Jim Ross, Greater Arlington Chamber CEO Michael Jacobson and the founders of Curnutt & Hafer.   

“The City of Arlington has been a tremendous partner to the National Medal of Honor Museum. We are so excited to continue expanding our work together paying tribute to Medal of Honor Recipients with this new mural,” said NMOHMF President and CEO Chris Cassidy. “Designed and painted by an Army veteran, this artwork recognizes the timeless, unifying values of the Medal.” 

Arlington Mayor Jim Ross echoed this sentiment, noting the Museum's impact on the city: “The Museum, in such a short time, has already brought so much to the City of Arlington. This mural will serve as another way for us to honor our heroes and the national monument that is the Medal of Honor Museum.” 

Curnutt & Hafer Founding Partner Kelly Curnutt also expressed his excitement for the new mural, which is located on the side of their building: “At Curnutt & Hafer, we have tremendous admiration for those who served our country, especially Medal of Honor Recipients. It is our honor to provide space on the side of our building for artwork that recognizes their courage and sacrifice.”
