During Character Playbook Event, students explored the values of courage, integrity, and commitment with Medal of Honor Recipient Flo Groberg, Command Force Members Marrissa Kim and Michelle Tulloch, and Washington Legend Rocky McIntosh
Washington, DC – On Tuesday, the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation’s Griffin Institute, in partnership with the NFL Foundation, the Washington Commanders, and EVERFIÒ, hosted an inspiring, educational event at Eliot-Hine Middle School in Washington, DC as part of the NFL’s Character Playbook series.
During an interactive program featuring Medal of Honor Recipient Flo Groberg, Washington Legend Rocky McIntosh, and Marrissa Kim and Michelle Tulloch from the Commanders’ Command Force, 250 students engaged in a lively conversation about courage, commitment, and integrity. The panel shared personal stories of teamwork and resilience, helping the students understand how Medal of Honor values can guide them through life’s challenges.
“Courage, commitment, and integrity are not just qualities found in sports or military service, they are essential life skills,” said Chris Bailey, Washington Salute Lead, Washington Commanders. “The Commanders are proud to support the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation in helping instill these values in young students and inspire the next generation to lead with character.”
“Medal of Honor recipients like Flo Groberg embody the highest values of service and leadership, providing powerful examples of how young people can embrace these principles to make an impact in their communities,” said Ellyn Metcalf, Vice President of Education for the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation. “Through the Character Playbook program and the support of EVERFIÒ, the NFL Foundation, and the Washington Commanders, we are empowering the next generation to live their lives with character and purpose.”
The Commanders’ involvement underscores the team’s commitment to uplifting local communities through meaningful educational programming. This event was part of the NFL’s Character Playbook series, an initiative aimed at inspiring young people with the skills to build healthy relationships and protect their mental health. Since its launch in 2016, Character Playbook has reached more than three million students. Through a partnership with the National Medal of Honor Griffin Institute, Character Playbook added Medal of Honor focused modules to its platform that use the stories of real-life American heroes to demonstrate how students can apply the values of courage, commitment, and integrity to their lives.
