THE MUSEUM

Preserving history and inspiring the future

The National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, Texas will serve as the premier national institution dedicated to the stories, impact, and legacy of the service members who went on to become Medal of Honor recipients.

With this project, Americans will gather to learn and pay tribute to our country’s bravest heroes in a state-of-the-art facility. Through recipient stories of courage and valor, the Museum will inspire current and future generations to discover and develop the shared values inherent in every Medal of Honor recipient — COURAGE & SACRIFICE, COMMITMENT & INTEGRITY, CITIZENSHIP & PATRIOTISM.

HONORING THE HEROES THAT CONTINUE TO DEFINE A NATION

Combined with the National Medal of Honor Monument in Washington, D.C. and the Medal of Honor Griffin Institute, the Museum will preserve the legacies of Medal of Honor recipients and inspire each of us with their humanity, courage, and selflessness.

HUMBLY SHOULDERING
A HEAVY BURDEN

The Museum is symbolic of the weighted choices and sacrifices each Medal recipient boldly bears during combat as well as the characteristic strength of each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. Immersive, open, and circular exhibits connect us to each hero, each other, and the world beyond.

SERVING FROM A PLACE OF UNITY AND STRENGTH

Located in the heart of the Entertainment District in Arlington, Texas, the Museum will benefit from unrivaled national exposure, joining our local and supporting partners in celebration of those who serve our country above and beyond the call of duty.

WITH A TEAM OF LEADERS DEDICATED TO THE CAUSE

Four former U.S. Presidents join a growing team of esteemed professionals, Medal of Honor recipients, and military leaders to champion this vital project and ensure these historic legacies have a proud and permanent home in the American landscape.

National Medal of Honor Griffin Institute

Inspiring Future Generations of America

THE NATIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR GRIFFIN INSTITUTE is central to the mission of inspiring America, ONE RISING LEADER AT A TIME.

Through the stories of Medal of Honor recipients, the program curriculum provides opportunities to explore what it means to have courage, commitment, integrity, patriotism, citizenship—and how to make brave choices without regard for personal cost.

Project Features

Neither a war memorial nor a military museum, the National Medal of Honor Museum is a humbling endeavor that will take visitors on a narrative journey through the life stories of ordinary people who made extraordinary choices above and beyond the call of duty.

  • Museum footprint encompasses over 100,000 square feet, cornering five acres of waterfront in Arlington, Texas.
  • Over 31,000 square feet of Exhibition Galleries as well as dedicated spaces for meetings, symposiums, memorials, and ceremonies.
  • Headquarters of the National Medal of Honor Griffin Institute, an organization that addresses our nation’s character gap and fills it by focusing on the values and valor of the Medal of Honor and all who have earned it.

By honoring these heroes, we hope to awaken the hero in us all.

Long before Medal of Honor recipients each earned their award, they were children, parents, neighbors, and friends. What made them heroes was not born on the battlefield, but brought to it. It was not their circumstances that called them to sacrifice, but their choices. They are not different from us, but they represent the best in us.
