As America prepares to observe Veterans Day, Chris Cassidy, President and CEO of the National Medal of Honor Museum Foundation, released the below statement:
“On Veterans Day, we honor the service and sacrifice of those who served in the U.S. Armed Forces. We are eternally grateful for all the brave Americans who answered the call in service of our great nation.
Of the 40 million patriots who served throughout our country’s history, fewer than 4,000 earned the Medal of Honor. Medal of Honor recipients are extraordinary Americans, whose selfless and inspiring acts safeguarded our way of life. Behind each Medal of Honor is a story that often goes beyond the recipient’s heroic acts of valor on the battlefield – a story of commitment and sacrifice, courage and integrity, citizenship and patriotism that should be honored, cherished and shared.
Our mission at the National Medal of Honor Museum is to build a forever home where these
stories will be preserved and passed on for generations to come and where all Americans can learn about the values of the Medal of Honor.”
