The Battle of Gettysburg and the Medal of Honor

July 1-3 marks the 157th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg – the largest and bloodiest battle of the Civil War. During this famous battle, 64 different soldiers would earn the Medal of Honor. Learn about the origins of the Medal of Honor during the Civil War and the exploits of select recipients from the very locations where their actions occurred at Gettysburg.
