FIRST AWARD
The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor (First Award) to First Sergeant Henry Hogan, United States Army, for gallantry in engagements at Cedar Creek, Montana and other campaigns during the period 21 October 1876 to 8 January 1877, while serving with Company G, 5th U.S. Infantry.
SECOND AWARD
The President of the United States of America, in the name of Congress, takes pleasure in presenting the Medal of Honor (Second Award) to Private Henry Hogan, United States Army, for extraordinary heroism on 30 September 1877, while serving with Company G, 5th U.S. Infantry, in action at Bear Paw Mountain, Montana. Private Hogan carried Lieutenant Romeyn, who was severely wounded, off the field of battle under heavy fire.Place and date: At Bear Paw Mountain, Mont., 30 September 1877.
